Development of the work

The work is divided into two distinct phases, during the development of which processes of dissemination and public participation are included:

Study of current urban mobility: we have proceeded to the analysis of the current situation regarding mobility in the municipality of Vinalesa. For this purpose, the following aspects have been analyzed:

  • External accessibility of the community and land uses.
  • Existing pedestrian infrastructure.
  • Existing bicycle infrastructure.
  • Public transportation infrastructure.
  • Private transportation infrastructure.
  • Parking facilities.
  • Infrastructure for freight transport.

Data collection, both documentary and by means of measurements.

Analysis of supply and demand in the current situation of the municipality from different points of view: external accessibility, infrastructures for road traffic, pedestrian and bicycle traffic, public transport, parking, freight traffic.

Mobility diagnosis.

General proposals for action derived from the diagnosis, leading to the definition of lines of action.

Proposal of alternatives for the development of the urban mobility plan for the city:

Definition of strategic lines of action.

The aim of this SUMP is to implement more sustainable forms of travel in the geographical area covered by the City Council of Vinalesa, prioritizing the reduction of individual motorized transport in favor of collective systems and other non-motorized modes of transport, while developing those modes that reconcile road safety and environmental protection, thus ensuring a better quality of life for citizens.

Proposals for action

On the basis of the above strategic lines, actions are proposed which in some cases will have an impact on a single strategic line and in other cases on several, referring to different areas of the proposed strategy.

Once the proposals and priorities for action have been defined, the SUMP includes a proposal for indicators to monitor their implementation and an evaluation of the expected impact on the environment.
