Road and rail reorganization of the Port of Valencia

Road and rail reorganization of the Port of Valencia

Development of the work

Rearrangement of the Road and Railway Network between the Muelle de Poniente and the Muelle Costa of the Port of Valencia within the framework of the Connecting Europe Facility-Connect ValenciaPort project.

Works to transform the road and rail network, improving safety conditions by eliminating level crossings, including a new rail yard that will allow classification, composition, maneuvering, parking and maintenance work, also contributing to the decongestion of the Valencia Fuente San Luis terminal.

Valenciaport greatly improves its rail connectivity and interoperability, with train compositions greater than 750m, integrating into the Mediterranean Corridor and the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).

Intense road and rail traffic was maintained at all times, with many temporary situations, coordinated with the repositioning of affected services.

General tracks, new track yard and mixed gauge mango tracks (as well as switches and crossings), with complete railway electrification. The entire railway safety process has been managed.

A diaphanous, safe and clear road system has been obtained for users, with a main axis with two lanes in each direction, parallel to which runs the track layout, with an elevated traffic circle to distribute traffic.
