New chillers for the Body 2 Plant

Development of the work

Part of the cold air production for the air conditioning of the Body 2 Plant was generated in the technical room 181 by water-condensed chillers with more than 40 years of operation.

The production lines in this Body Plant are modified and new welding cooling water lines are required. To this end, the cooling towers used for the former condensation circuit have been reused for the production of cooling water for the welding process.

The old air conditioning production system is substituted with two new air-condensed chillers of 867 kW each, with a total of 1,7 MW.

The technical room 181 is remodelled, installing inside it the pumping stations for the welding cooling water and the pumping station for the air-conditioning system, with primary and secondary circuits.
